MONDAY
September 21
Look
up and read
Colossians 2:6
Do you ever find yourself thinking about other things or talking with others
during times of worship? How important is worship to you? Most times we
connect worship with song. God desires that we take seriously our worship
through music as with everything else. We are so easily distracted and
don’t realize the importance of worship and the need for it in our daily
lives. God made you for worship, to worship Him. The verse in Colossians
2:6 states that in our lives if we have received Christ Jesus and believe in
Him we are to continue to live in Him. This means that everything we
do as we live in God should be an act of worship to honor Him, to glorify
His name and express obedience to Him. Spend some time in prayer today
thanking God for the opportunity to worship Him and ask Him to forgive you
for the times when you weren’t worshipping Him. Seek to live in Him today.

TUESDAY
September 22
Look
up and read
Romans
10:15b
Do you realize that
other’s lives can be touched through your worship? You have the opportunity
now to share Christ’s love through your worship. But you say to yourself,
“But the songs are boring and I don’t like them.” Well last time I checked
worship wasn’t about you! It’s all about God and praising Him. Romans
10:15b says “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” God
recognizes you as you share him with others through your worship.
You are seen as beautiful in God’s eyes and you may never know whose life
you may touch but remember it’s not about you; it has to be all about God!
Pray today and ask God to help you with your focus in worship so that you
can keep it about Him and not yourself. |

WEDNESDAY
September 23
Look up and read
Psalm
104:33-34
Are you still living
for yourself? Do you still think it’s all about you? The world is a much
bigger place than you make it out to be in your life. There are people that
are starving and killing each other over free handouts, and there are
homeless people that freeze to death because they have no warm place to
stay. Yet you have so much at your very finger tips and you can’t praise
God for it. God wants his children to praise Him throughout their entire
life, good or bad. The verse in Psalm 104: 33-34 encourages us to sing
songs of praise to God as long as we live. If you know that God has blessed
you with so much then why wouldn’t you sing praises to Him? Meditate over
these verses and think of how you can and should praise God through your
worship.

THURSDAY
September 24
Look up and read
Psalm
96:1-4
Have you praised
God today? Do you share Him with your friends? How many more missed
opportunities will you go through till you proclaim His Word and show a life
that worships God? Remember you were made for worship, to worship God! He
wants you to just belt out His name boldly and with confidence. Many times
though, we just sit and let worship happen around us but never truly
actively participate in worship. Psalm 96:1-4 challenges us in our worship
to the Lord. God desires that all sing to Him, praising Him and sharing His
Word everyday. Get excited!!! God wants you to tell of His glory and all
that He has done in your life and other’s lives where you’ve seen Him work
and do amazing things. God wants you to remember that He is great and
worthy of your praise and is to be feared above everything else. Will you
worship God that way? Spend some time in prayer today and ask God to give
you the boldness and confidence to belt out His name through your worship. |

FRIDAY
September 25
Look
up and read
Acts
2:46-47
Do you realize that
worship is a collective and unifying time too? When you go to your favorite
band’s concert you get so pumped up and you sing and dance your heart out
with people you don’t even know. We can totally loose ourselves at a
secular (non-Christian) concert. God has given us the opportunity to
worship Him with others. Sometimes we can’t bring ourselves to the point of
letting go to praise God. In Acts 2:46-47 it talks about a group of people
who are committed to Christ and sharing life together and aren’t afraid of
letting go to worship and praise God with close friends. Everyday they
committed to meeting together, learning God’s Word together and eating
together with excited and REAL hearts. When they did that, God blessed them
and added to their numbers and they continued to grow in their faith. Youth
group only meets once a week. Let go and freely worship God with others you
know well. God is waiting to bless it. Pray and ask God to help you be
free in your worship of Him. Be bold enough to praise His name at youth
group.

SATURDAY
September 26
Look
up and read
Psalm 100
Have you taken the time this week to prepare your heart,
mind and soul for worship this weekend? It’s a great responsibility to lead
others in worship. Do you now realize that it’s all about Him? When you
sing songs of praise in front of the congregation it’s not a show or a
performance. It’s taking the opportunity to lead others to the foot of the
cross. Worship is a celebration time to praise and glorify God and prepare
hearts to receive the Word of God. Psalm 100 is a great passage because
it’s all about God. As you read through this Psalm you will see that God
wants you to be joyful, worshipping Him with gladness through joyous songs.
He wants you to realize what He’s done for you and when you come before Him
it is with thankfulness in your heart, praising and giving thanks to His
name. God has promised that He is good, His love endures forever and that
His faithfulness continues through every generation, even yours! Take the
time today before worship this weekend and meditate over these verses and
seek to apply it to your life. Remember you were made for worship, to
worship God who loves you and desires a REAL relationship with you.
