numerous opportunities for young people to serve ranging from day projects
to weeklong mission trips. |
7TH GRADE R.O.C.S. May 2-4,
2008
The 7th Grade R.O.C.S. (Reaching Others for Christ by Serving) is our
inner-city mission experience for seventh graders. By staying in town and
working with various agencies in the Charlotte-Metro area, seventh graders
are introduced to doing mission work in an exciting and fun way. We hope all
seventh graders will participate in this weekend-long mission experience!

REACH
WORKCAMP (8th—9th Grades)
June 15-21, 2008
The REACH mission trip is a weeklong summer workcamp where eighth and ninth
graders show Christ’s love through building relationships and serving
others. Each year we go to a unique location somewhere in the country to do
home repair projects for those in impoverished communities. Come enjoy this
incredible experience!

MISSION ADVENTURE (10th—12th Grades)
June 21-28, 2008
The Mission Adventure is a
weeklong, inner-city mission trip where youth work with the homeless
community, AIDS community and orphans. Each year, this trip goes to a
different city to reach out to others. 10th-12th graders have the
opportunity to really experience a culture that is different from their own.

RAINBOW EXPRESS CAMP
July 7-11, 2008
Rainbow Express is a weeklong day camp offered each summer at Matthews UMC.
It is a camp that serves children with special needs as they “team up” with
youth and other children. This camp is designed, organized, and led by our
youth as an outreach ministry. Rainbow Express is one of the highlights of
our year! How amazing it is to see this camp growing each year!!! |
OPERATION SERVE
April 19, 2008
One day a year we send youth throughout the Charlotte area communities to
serve as the Hands of Christ. This is a fund-raiser as well for our mission
work throughout the year. ALL youth participating in REACH or
the Senior High Mission Trip are required to do this.
